AX, XLA and SLA

I came to know about this module, while trying to fix invalid view XLA_PA_AEL_EI_MRC_GL_V

The Common Accounting Module, which uses the product short name of XLA, includes
new functionality introduced in Release 11.5. It helps to provide simpler,
consistent accounting processes and improved audit, inquiry, global reporting
and control. It enhances the current online accounting inquiry and drilldown
capabilities with the following features:

View Accounting Lines
T-Accounts
Expanded GL Drilldown
Transfer to GL from Subledgers

While the functionality is embedded in the core products that use XLA, it does
have its own minipacks, which are available for download through MetaLink.
XLA's features increase integration among the following modules:

Oracle General Ledger
Oracle Receivables
Oracle Payables
Oracle Assets
Oracle Projects
Oracle Purchasing
Oracle Inventory
Oracle Work In Progress
Oracle Treasury

The application of the latest current XLA minipack is required for the Release
11.5 product. How is this different from AX
----------------------------------- AX has its own accounting metholodgy which does not use the core accounting process APACENG
XLA uses APACENG in the core
THey both have different accounting but the end result is the same ie accounting is created and posted to GL
AX uses RULES to generate accounting depending on the countries requirements.
And populates AX_EVENTS , AX_SLE_HEADERS, AX_LINES
XLA populates AP_ACCOUNTING_EVENTS, AP_AE_HEADERS, AP_AE_LINES
in about 18months time they will both be replaced by SLA(Sub ledger Accounting)

Hi Rishikesh,

You can download it from etrm.oracle.com if you have a valid metalink id. The direct path to download is https://etrm.oracle.com/pls/trm120/etrm_fndnav.show_file?n_file_id=607

The file is of no use, its a very high level diagram , can a low level diagram be available... or can be provied by someone.. we are new to XLA and don;t know the proper links .. we need the ER diagram for how xla_distribition_links is linked to other modules
