How to start and stop telnet in Solaris 10

To check status of telnet

$ svcs telnet
STATE STIME FMRI
disabled Mar_18 svc:/network/telnet:default

To stop telnet

svcadm disable telnet

To start telnet

svcadm enable telnet

Vikram, what could be a valid reason to start telnet? I can not think of any.

No good reason. In our environment, it was started because some people had a false premise that if they did not start telnet, MWA wouldn't work. This assumption is of course incorrect. MWA has nothing to do with telnet. MWA is a completely different service running on a different port but in plain text like telnet.
